Ending poverty is impossible without protecting human rights
Elena Díaz Galán sets out her priorities for the mandate and previews a first thematic report on urban poverty and State responsibility.
El País interviews the Special Rapporteur about the global scale of poverty and the need to understand it as an economic, social, environmental and cultural reality.
The conversation presents three priorities—visibility, awareness and guidance—and stresses that laws, public policies and financial systems must put people at the centre. It also addresses access to housing, education and health, urban poverty and groups that are particularly affected.
